What do you think the world lacks in relationships?
I think it’s Sincerity.
You can’t find ‘true’ love if you aren’t sincere with your partner.
The origin of this word means ‘clean’ ‘pure’ or ‘sound’ (Google).
I’ve written below my thoughts on these three topics which relate to the word ‘Sincere’
Clean
I think ‘clean’ means you have nothing to hide… for better, for worse.
There is also an element of forgiveness. You have to forgive your own indiscretions before you can be truly clean and sincere with another person.
To be ‘clean’ and ‘sincere’ we must also trust. But trust takes time to build. In a relationship, it could mean sharing your deepest, darkest secrets with a partner and trusting them to protect those secrets with their life.
Intimacy. Sharing secrets is intimate. Painful pillow talk, pinky promises. Intimacy can be painful, but beautiful. The more painful hurdles you move through together, the closer you get to true love. To have and to hold.
Pure
Sharing the pure, raw parts of a persons personality and encouraging them to do so genuinely, inside and out. Confessions. Similar to being ‘clean’, your indiscretions need forgiveness. Repenting your sins, for yourself or your partner.
Cycles
Seconds, minutes, hours, days. Each is an opportunity to be a better person, to be something different. To become more self aware, to show up for your partner: Sincerely.
Untying knots, facing love purely and truly. In sickness and in health.
Sound
The sound of a heart beat, led on someone’s chest.
The sound of actively listening to your partners voice, demonstrating sincere listening skills.
The sound of hearing your partners laughter or cries. And knowing how to console them or find something funny together. Bonding.
The sound, sound of contentment and being in love, having conquered being in a clean and pure relationship.
I do.
